“5 Things Top Performers Do That Most Don’t”

Welcome
I’ve successfully coached over 150 high performers — from CEOs to business owners and driven individuals who want more out of life.
And if you’ve ever wondered,
“What do these people actually do differently?”
…this video is for you.
I’m going to share 5 things I’ve consistently seen across the board — the habits, mindset shifts, and systems that either were already in place or we implemented together to take their performance to the next level.
Let’s dive in.
1. They have crystal clear clarity.
They know exactly who they want to be as a person —
The habits they want to build,
The traits they want to live by,
How they see themselves,
And how they want others to experience them.
They’re also clear on their goals — both short-term and long-term —
And the life they actually want to live.
Why does this matter?
Because clarity cuts out confusion.
It removes vagueness and guesswork.
And it makes sure every action they take each day is aligned with becoming their best self.
When you’re clear, you stop focusing on the outside noise.
You stop chasing meaningless goals or trying to live someone else’s version of success.
Without clarity, you waste time trying to be someone you’re not —
And that only leads to burnout and unfulfillment.
Let me give you an example.
I worked with a client who was waking up every day grinding hard — chasing a version of success he thought he should want.
He was earning more, working more, pushing harder…
But he was burnt out.
And he was neglecting what actually mattered to him — especially time with his daughter.
When he finally got clear on what success actually looked like for him…
Everything changed.
He started living it now — not waiting for “one day.”
It was something as simple as blocking out more time each week for his daughter —
And that small shift made him feel more successful than any pay rise ever could.
So here’s your challenge:
If you’re ready to level up your performance —
Start by getting crystal clear on three things:
Who do you want to be?
What goals do you want to achieve?
And what kind of life do you want to live — not just this year, but over the next 3 to 5 years?
That’s where it starts.

2. They have a strong why!
Why does that matter?
Because when you have a strong reason to show up,
You’ll push harder.
You’ll sacrifice more.
You’ll show up on the days you don’t feel like it.
And that right there — is one of the biggest differences I’ve seen between the people who go to the next level in every area of life…
And those who stay stuck.
The ones who go all in?
They’ve got a reason to show up for themselves.
For their health.
For their family.
For something bigger than just the goal.
The ones who don’t stay consistent?
They’ll say their kids are their “why” — but the truth is, they don’t connect with it emotionally.
They don’t remind themselves of it often enough.
And so it loses power.
Here’s the truth — I’ve been there too.
There’ve been times in my life where I felt totally disconnected from my why.
Not because I didn’t care — but because I stopped reminding myself why I started.
Or because the thing that used to fuel me… just didn’t anymore.
So here’s how I think about it:
I get fuel from two places — pain and pleasure.
Pain is thinking about a feeling I don’t want to feel anymore.
Maybe it’s proving people wrong.
Maybe it’s remembering how lost I used to feel — and never wanting to go back there.
That’s where I started — all pain.
But over time, I shifted into pleasure.
Now, it’s about chasing the life I do want.
It’s about contributing to others, showing up for people I love,
And being the man I never had growing up.
That fuels me every day.
Your challenge: Find your real why.
If you don’t feel like you have one — ask yourself these:
What pain do I never want to feel again?
What emotion am I tired of carrying?
Who doubted me — and what would it mean to rise above that?
Then flip it…
What brings me real joy and meaning?
Who do I want to show up for each day?
What kind of life excites me?
And here’s one final tool:
Ask yourself “why?” — five times.
Every time you answer, ask again.
Keep going until it hits you emotionally — that’s when you’ve found it.

3. They have a solid structure.
No day or week is left to chance.
They know exactly what needs to get done to move the needle forward —
And they block time to make sure it happens.
Why does this matter?
Because it makes them effective — not just busy.
They’re intentional with their time.
They don’t waste minutes on low-value tasks or distractions.
They treat time like their most valuable asset — because it is.
And here’s the truth:
If your day isn’t planned to move your goals, dreams, and values forward…
You’ll end up spending it moving someone else’s.
That’s why so many people struggle to find balance —
They wake up without a plan, without direction,
And spend the day getting sucked into distraction after distraction.
Let me give you an example.
A lot of my clients come to me feeling overwhelmed and scattered.
But the moment they start looking ahead — planning their week based on their values, goals, and priorities — everything shifts.
They stop guessing.
They stop reacting.
They build a system that serves them — not the other way around.
All they have to do is show up and stick to what they set — and things start falling into place.
So here’s the challenge:
If you’re getting to the end of the week wondering where the time went — and what you even achieved — it’s time to change that.
Before your week begins,
Write down your key goals, values, and top priorities…
Then block non-negotiable time in your schedule to do them.
The two tools I recommend?
A physical journal like this one — or your Outlook calendar.
Pick one.
Use it.
And take control of your time.

4. They prioritise their own personal growth.
4. They prioritise their own personal growth.
Whether it’s their health, mindset, or skill development —
Top performers do something every single day that helps them become better.
They understand that success isn’t just about winning in business —
If they’re neglecting themselves, their health, or the people they care about… it’s not real success.
That’s why they dedicate 2–3 hours a day to themselves.
Not as a luxury — but as a non-negotiable.
Why does this matter?
Because the more you take care of you,
The better you feel.
The more energy you have.
The more confidence, focus, and presence you bring into your business, your family, and your life.
And there’s another layer to this —
When you hit personal milestones like running a half marathon, learning a new skill, or simply staying consistent with your habits —
It gives you a sense of deep fulfillment.
The kind of fulfillment that business results alone can’t give you.
But when people neglect themselves for too long — they burn out.
They feel unfulfilled.
And what they’re building becomes unsustainable.
Personal growth creates longevity.
It keeps you grounded, consistent, and connected to who you actually want to be.
Let me give you an example.
One of my clients, Selim, was doing well in business —
But he was pushing aside his values and himself in the process, chasing that “someday” dream.
As soon as he started carving out time each day to train, meditate, and spend time with his family —
His energy went up.
His fulfillment increased.
He felt more alive.
And the business? That took off too.
It wasn’t a coincidence — it was alignment.
So here’s the reflection:
Are you making that same mistake?
What’s one or two changes you could make right now that would move you closer to your best self?
Is there a habit you’ve been neglecting that you’d love to get consistent with?
A skill you’ve been wanting to develop?
A personal goal — like a marathon, a retreat, or just more time for yourself — that would light you up?
Write it down.
Block the time.
And back yourself.

5. They invest in themselves.
Whether it’s a coach, a course, a book, or a seminar —
Top performers invest in people who’ve already walked the path.
They value their time.
And one of the fastest ways to save time is to learn from someone who’s done it.
Why try to figure it all out on your own when someone can show you the way?
Why does this matter?
Because trying to figure it all out by yourself costs time, energy, money — and often, momentum.
And here's the real danger:
You might never reach the level you’re aiming for simply because you don’t know what you don’t know.
The time you spend trying to work it out could’ve been used doing what makes you great.
So why do people hold back from investing in help?
A lot of the time, it's fear.
Fear of asking for help.
Fear of not feeling “worthy” of support.
But let’s be real — the best of the best get help.
If your car breaks down, you don’t try to fix it yourself — you go to a mechanic.
Same principle.
And trust me — I get it.
I used to have that lone wolf mindset too.
I believed no one could help me because I knew myself best.
But that was just ego — and a limited way of thinking.
The truth is: I don’t know what I don’t know.
When I finally reframed asking for help —
When I stopped seeing it as weakness and started seeing it as something the most successful people do to grow —
Everything changed.
I wasn’t wasting energy trying to be a master of something I didn’t need to be.
I let the right people guide me — and it accelerated my growth.
So here’s the question:
Is there an area in your life right now where you’re not reaching your full potential?
If so —
Is there a coach, mentor, book, or course you could invest in to help you level up?
Don’t wait. The sooner you start, the faster things shift.

Closing Message
I hope you got value from this blog —
But more important than what you heard is what you do next.
Take a look at these 5 traits:
Clarity
A strong why
Solid structure
Daily personal growth
Investing in yourself
Which ones are already part of your life?
And which one do you need to start implementing now to take your performance to the next level?
If you’re already doing these — how can you take it up a notch?
If not — this is your sign to start.

Well done
Well done for showing up, reading this, and being ready to take action.
Most people say they want change — few actually do something about it.
You’re one of the few. 👏
